First Need and Trav-L-Pure were evaluated at the University of Arizona for their ability to remove microbiological contaminants according to the current EPA guide standard and protocol for testing microbiological water purifiers, by removing bacteria, cysts, and viruses, without the use of chemical addatives or multiple pass-through. They are are now certified to remove viruses Poliovirus Type I, Rotavirus SA-11, and others.
